What do we do in the Fordham DFA studio?
Each semester the studio collectively decides on a semester project – working on a local community design challenge. We meet weekly at the Lincoln Center campus @ Fordham.
In weekly studio meetups, we go through the human-centered design process, conducting design research, prototyping, testing, and critiquing our designs.
There are no pre-requisite skills or courses, just show up and get involved.
Why should I get involved?
In short, Fordham DFA is a place you can apply some of the skills you’ve picked up at Fordham. Whether it’s communication design, marketing, programming, graphic design, user experience design, entrepreneurship, etc…
Our projects use a human-centered design process, which begins with user research (interviews, focus groups, surveys, etc.) followed by ideation and prototyping (visual design, coding, sketching, pitching, managing, etc.), and ending with testing (e.g., focus groups, interviews, think-alouds).
